I feel better. It's that simple. This is why you have to read stuff on here with perspective. You would think sometimes by reading the posts every day that no meds in the world work. They do! And when you feel good, most people don't want to come back in here and post the success story. Two reasons: 1, they may be exposed to ridicule and doubt from others who have yet to find relief and 2 when you feel good, you want to stay away from this site and anything that reminds you about when you were really struggling.
My story is short: Had GAD for 9 years and for the first time in my life, found relief last fall by accident by taking Seroquel (25mg/day). However, in April, got all worked up about a poor financial decision. They upped the Seroquel to 400mg/day over a few weeks and added Paxil (40mg). It took a month or two, but finally got calmed down. Then I dropped the Paxil. Now take 300mg of Seroquel. It just terminates the racing thoughts. Yes it makes you groggy (combat that with caffeine), but it is well worth the trade-off to me.
Seroquel is a miracle drug for me. If you have bad anxiety, can't calm day, or are bothered by insomnia, give it a try. You will know the first day whether or not it will work for you.
