You shouldn't have too much trouble getting off of Paxil since you're on Effexor. Ask your doctor to write you some smaller dose prescriptions so you can taper off slowly. They say that getting off of Paxil is the hardest, but I've done it before, and it was breeze compared to getting off of Effexor. Do it very slowly, since you've been on Paxil so long. It doesn't make much sense to be on both Paxil and Effexor, especially if you think it's not really doing anything.
