I don't think there's anything paradoxical
at all about any of these drugs. Think
about the meaning of "paradoxical". What
does it mean in terms of clinical response?
It means that you get responses which are
unexpected or unpredicted. That's pretty
vague. You can get paradoxical effects
with aspirin if you take it on an empty
stomach for example.

In the case of benzos, alcohol, Klonopin
whatever -- paradoxical may mean that
there is a time variable in the metabolism
of the drug.

It's not an inherent quality of the drug
itself.
