ace,

I've taken Carbamazepine for about 10 yrs., off and on (mostly on), at dose range from 300 to 800 mgs./day.
400mgs./day helps me greatly with anxiety and feeling mentally "solid"/"stable". If I go much higher depression starts creeping in.

It's rep. is mainly as a "top-down" mood stabilizer, but you never know - everyone's different. I've read studies where it's helped people with depression - you might be one of those! Also, sometimes helping anxiety has a secondary effect of helping depression.

Hope you get off that slippery slope fast, and back to feeling good real soon.

Best to you ace!
