Hey Butternut,

I went through a similar thing on celexa (which is almost lexapro!) I was very sedated I needed about 12 hours sleep a night!

Anyway um, you probably want to talk about the sedation with your pdoc. They can add agents to lex to help, like wellbutrin, a stimulant maybe.

I live in the UK so I wasn't able to try the above. I simply had to come off the med, which wasn't suited to me anyway. I tend to think that if its making you as sedated as I was, then its not the drug for you. But you've only been on lex a week? You need to give it alot longer than that, say 6-8weeks. The sedation crept up on me over several months. I personally think my mental problems are a result of a dopamine/noradrenaline inbalance rather than something to do with sertonin.

Just a thought.

Kind regards

Meri
