All MAOIs have the potential to produce insomnia. I would be more concerned with the edema than with the insomnia. You should be able to treat the insomnia if you are aggressive enough with medication. What have you tried so far?

If the edema becomes unacceptable, you might try Parnate. Edema seems to be more common with Nardil. I'm not sure about Marplan or moclobemide.
