Hi the insomnia is normal considering it is a stimulant. Everytime my Dr increased my dose I would experience insomnia for about three to four weeks until my body ajusted to it. I did have to take a mild sedative during these times for sleep but now am off them.
I can totally relate to your eyes being shut and the time passing but feeling like you have not slept. I functioned like that for weeks until I could not move I was so lethargic. Anyways as soon as I went to the Dr. and starting taking Ativan 0.5mg at hs when needed It I was fine. Good Luck and it will go away!!
