There's a big gap between being dependent and being addicted. Apparently your mother has some confusion about it. The fact that you're surviving and functioning without the Dexedrine suggests strongly that you were not "addicted" to it. (And if it's prescribed by a doctor, that doctor should be making the assessments of whether or not there are dependency issues.)
But Matt? GG is right -- I've read a lot of her responses to you, that offer a lot of really good and supportive advice to you, but I don't think I've ever read a reply from you to her about her advice. Is there a reason for that? I see that you do respond to other people.
And again -- you're over 18, you have control over your medical care. You can call your doctor's office, make an appointment, and go to it alone. You can even tell the doctor's office that YOU are the only one who has authorization to cancel. And if this is just about "my mom has to pay for it," ask the office to bill you at home. And tell the doctor what's been going on. Tell the doctor that you feel as though your mother is controlling the treatment, and that you don't feel as though your needs are being met. Tell him that you want to have her excluded from the office during your appointments.
You have rights. If you choose to give those rights up, please recognize that that is a choice you have made.
