hey! anticonvulsants tend to make people a little bit..stupid. Not all the time, and its not always permanent or even that bad but...they're usually not the best thing for cognition. That said, low-dose trileptal helped me out...I can't explain it in terms of working on the temproal lobes or other biochemical actions...its more like the trileptal helped smooth things out a bit, so instead of wasting mental energy changing gears constantly and freaking out, i could focus and do what needed to be done...at low-doses, trileptal seemed more to redirect my mental energy than necessarily decresae or increase it (if that makes sense).
