anticonvulsants for concentration, drive, fluency

(verbal fluency that is)... and to get rid of anger explosions!! it seems to have positive effects for some people... is this through action on the TEMPORAL LOBE?? gaba? anti-glutamate? calcium channels, maybe? which ones are the best? or is this just another psychopharmaceutical fad?
