I've tried so many drugs for generalized anxiety and social anxiety. The one that has worked best for me bar none is klonopin. The sedation (if any) wears off, but the anti anxiety benefits do not. At least not for me. I have tried recently to get off, see how I was doing, but all the old symptoms came back. I'm so thankful for this medicine. I do feel at times like I'm a little depressed and plan on adding something for that, but nothing has come close for anxiety. Before Klonopin I was house bound. Now I own my own company. Some people split doses, some once a day, usually at night. You have to play with the dose until you find the lowest dose that works for you. For me thats between 1 and 2mgs. Good luck!
