I am not a pro - not by far - but after years of remission - when depression punched me solidly without advising me - Effexor (xr) was the drug I was prescribed.

I did not tell my pdoc that I have a drinking, ummm ... ummm..... issue? The drug did not work for me. (For many "side-effect" reasons, alchoholism not one of them, without trying to dodge my problem)

But the point I would like to make is that I cannot see how your casual and unaffected, ocassional drinking will stop the AD working for you. It does not appear that you are doing anything "out of the norm" or for that matter, irresponsible.

However, this is just my opinion. Naturally - alcohol and any AD should be taken together with extreme caution.
