I noticed a significant improvement within 3-5 days of taking Effexor. It was several years ago so I don't recall the exact ramp-up dosage or how long it took to get there (seems like it was a two week sample starter packet that he gave me). I noticed any time I missed a dose (and later on when I was at max dose if I was even a few hours late on my dose), that I would have suicidal thoughts. This was something I never thought I would act on either...never in a million years, but I did try...twice. When someone says that word, keep an eye on them. You don't have to hover, just be in tune with her moods and try to help make sure she's getting professional help.
