When I took Celexa (only 20mgs; my shrink at the time thought anymore would be too "activating". WTFever), I stopped taking it b/c I still felt "blah" and thought it wasn't doing anything. Well, soon I was not only depressed, but very *DEPRESSED*. I don't know if it was withdrawal of the Celexa or if the Celexa was providing a slight lift off of what would have been a pretty bad depressive episode, but...I felt bad. So I did the Celexa again. If you think Lexapro is the source of your problems, get your doc to RX something that hasn't caused problems in the past, or a combo of OK anti-depressants, and see if that helps. Prozac+Effexor seems kinda rough to me, but if it works for you, that's what counts (Remeron+Effexor, the famed "California Rocket Fuel" combo, seems less likely to cause serious problems but, again, you know what works and what doesn't). I don't take Topomax, but I've got friends who do, and they're always complaining about it...it makes them stupid, etc. etc. The only good thing about it seems to be the weight loss. Personally, I'd try something else if its causing problems--my 2 picks would be trileptal and/or lamictal--but if it works really well, or you don't want to switch, or you've tried other stuff with minimal success and/or side-effects, you may want to tough it out. Does the Neurontin help alot? I'm just askin b/c of the Neurontin lawsuit--the Neurontin people (Parke-Davis, maybe?) had to pay mad cash b/c they plugged it so heavily for off-label uses, and b/c a lot of their studies were really shady...I only ask b/c if it isn't doing anything, or isn't doing that much, you could always switch it out for a med with a better track record of effectiveness. BuSpar may be worth trying--it usually helps with anxiety (best if used in conjunction with an anti-depressant), and it **might** boost anti-depressants, especially SSRIs, in combating depression. If you take an anti-psychotic, BuSpar also **might** help reduce EPS and reduce the risk of tardive dyskinesia. Good luck!
