In reply to Klonopin causeing depression? Salivation? comments, posted by Paulbwell on May 19, 2005, at 21:57:17
I was just started on Klonopin (.5mg HS and .25mg in the AM) for panic attacks induced by Topamax. While the panic attacks have stopped, I certainly do feel very lethargic, totally without motivation and depressed. I don't know if this is the Klonopin or maybe just my brain readjusting after the Topamax debacle. I think too much 5-HT causes problems in me as I've never been able to tolerate any SSRI due to side effects and they don't have any effect on my atypical depression symptoms. Everyone seems to be on the "raise serotonin" bandwagon for depression, but some of us are cut from a different cloth. I'm waiting for pregabalin to come out in the next couple of weeks. Bet it will work for anxiety in me as Neurontin helped mellow me out.
