I have had hallucinations in the past- mine weren't really disturbing, just weird. Like once I Saw a banner hanging from the wall that read, " HOMEWORK." I couldn't figure out why my husband had put it there (considering I'm not in school) so I stood up on the couch to remove it before I Realized it there was nothing really there.

I hallucinated one other time- it was more freaky, I saw myself sit up and look down at myself clapping. It was strange. Like I came out of my body.

BUT both these times I was on Lexapro and I never hallucinated again until tonight- my blood sugar became high and I was seeing colorful numbers.

Don't ask me why. I have no idea.

My dad is bipolar and he hallucinates often. He talks to people that aren't there. One night he went "fishing" in the middle of the living room floor. I just went along with him, he claims we caught a few good "catches." LOL

But, I'm reminded of the movie, " A beautiful mind." somehow he has learned to just ignore his hallucinations.

My thought is how would you know when they are hallucinations or real? Because the times I hallucinated, it was very real??

I don't know. That's a tough one.
