hi, welcome.

i don't think xanax is much worse than other drugs i've taken. doctors and consumers both seem aware that since it's shorter-acting than the others and needs to be taken more often, it can produce dependence. for some people, nothing works like xanax. i have taken or take ativan and klonopin during the day, but as two of my doctors said, "some people are just xanax people." every drug has side effects and dangers, and xanax is useful for a lot of people. i think the benefits overall outweigh the costs.
