Amphetamines curb both appetite and increase metabolism. After time though either one or both of these mechanisms seem to fade making amphetamines not a great long term weight loss solution. It depends on the person obviously. Adderall didn't seem to do much to my weight, partly due to me being very conscious about what I eat and make sure I eat 5-6 times a day regardless.
