hey! Adderall and the amphetamine-like diet drugs definitely cause weight loss through curbing appetite, and there is some speculation (though no PROOF) that there may be other mechanisms involved, such as boosting metabolism. As for curbing weight gain from other drugs...possible, but using adderall for weight loss is pretty rare these days. When docs write for such a med, they usually opt for meridia, phentermine, or another scheudle IV-III substance.
