I think you might benefit from seeing a therapist in addition to your pdoc. You need someone who is a good listener, someone who is not judgemental and someone who will not be surprised if you get upset.

You seem to suffer from a lot of social anxiety. You are in the right place, many people on p-babble have suffered from social anxiety, myself included. I think you should ask your pdoc about trying Nardil, it can be very effective for SA.

I don't really know what normal is, I don't think anyone does, I don't think there is even such as thing as being normal. We are all different. Your anxiety doesn't make you abnormal, many people suffer from it. When your anxiety is under control it will be much easier to make some good friends. Friends are as important for your mental health as meds. Being lonely is very painful, I have been lonely for most of my life. I have some good friends now, they are very important to me.

Why does your dad keep telling you that you're gay. Is he just being an idiot? I don't think he understands mental health problems at all... then again, it sounds a bit like he has mental health problems of his own. Not anxiety, but something else. Does anyone else live in your house?
