Jas,

Glad to hear that things are alright for you. Like you, I do rely on a small amount of a benzo from time to time (in my case, it is Xanax). It really helps when the anxiety gets unbearable and my mind is racing, and the irrational fears just seem to take on a life of their own.

I'll be interested to hear how you find the AL L-Carnitine. I bought some, but haven't tried it yet. It is supposed to be very dopaminergic, so, hopefully, it will only add to the positive effects you are having from the Tryptophan. Good luck with it.

Funny you should mention that you got headaches from calcium. I tried adding calcium supplements to my regimen, which I took at night with some magnesium. After I added it, I started waking up with a really bad headache and stiff neck. Once I stopped, the headache and stiff neck went away. Maybe neither of us need extra calcium.

As far as my experiments go, the NADH/DMAE/Vitex combo has certainly increased my energy, and, to some extent (because of the energy increase), my motivation. So, those supplements were good investments for me. I continue to struggle with the Anafranil, but will try again to increase the dose above 50 mg to see if I can tolerate it. If not, I will probably stick with Celexa (low dose) and ask the pdoc if I can add something more stimulating like Provigil, Wellbutrin or nortriptyline. I continue to think positive that I will find the right combination soon.

Well, I wish you continued good progress with the Tryptophan, AL L-Carnitine and the other supplements you are considering adding to your regimen.

Take care, and talk to you another time.

Tamara

> Things are alright on the tryptophan (thanks for asking!). I can't seem to do without some Klonopin for the anxiety though, and dosing of the trypt. is pretty annoying, because I'm taking so much!! I'm sleeping better, not perfect, but better. The night time racing thoughts are reduced, for sure. :).
> Funnily enough, I've just added AL-Carnitine, this week. I used to take it a few years ago, so we'll see how that works. I've taken NADH (2 diff. brands) in the past as well, it works for energy and concentration, but it gives me headaches, :( . Come to think of it, I've had NO headaches for weeks now (yay), since dropping Celexa and calcium suppl. and adding trypt.
