Perhaps there is also a tie-in with a similar kind of mechanism responsible for the weight gain with SSRIs and Effexor (for those susceptible to this). I do not believe there is a histamine blockade as the tricyclics and Remeron have, at least not a particularly powerful one. I'd like to know what the actual percentage of people who experience weight gain on Nardil is. For the SSRIs and Effexor, the range appears to be about 17-22%, based on a recent Consumer Report article and survey.

Yes cutting the calories is good... I didn't even notice I was gaining weight because I was so use to being skinny. I put on about 30 pounds but it was because I was eating a bunch more than I was. When I went off Nardil for a few weeks the weight literally melted off. About 15 pounds but I couldn't hack it without Nardil. I went back on it and this time watched everything I ate. I get my sweet cravings now from Gold apples and drink plenty of diet soda and water. I never really worked out too much but it didn't seem to help lose weight when I was on Nardil.
