How does CELEBREX work for depression?

Posted by rod on September 27, 2004, at 5:16:53

Hi,

I am thinking about trying Celebrex (celecoxib) to augment antidepressive treatment.
I can only find very little information about its effect on the CNS. Does anybody know what it is doing apart its anti-inflamatory effect? what about dopamine, serotonin, noradrenaline?

the most useful info I found is:
"COX-2 inhibitors as adjunctive therapy in schizophrenia"
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=pubmed&dopt=Abstract&list_uids=15268640

"..From a theoretical point of view, other psychiatric indications for selective COX-2 inhibitors are discussed.."

the full article would be interesting....

thanks
Roland
