I wouldn't recommend it. Prednisone is tough on people who have to take it for other medical reasons (like me, for kidney disease). My experience with it is that it increased anxiety and short-temperedness without any positive effect on energy. Some people just about go out of their skin with it. I literally warned people when I was having a "Prednisone Day."

Prednisone is a very powerful drug with many serious side effects (like bone marrow depression, thinning of skin, decreased immunity) that I wouldn't take it without serious reason. Further, my pdoc told me that it has to be tapered veeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyy slowly or it will induce depression.
