Dear Matt -
I say this with the warmest regards...
Quit avoiding reality, pick up the phone, and call your girlfriend!!!! If she's called 30 times in the last two days, it sounds like she really really loves you and is concerned about you. You're very lucky to have someone like this. :-)
Also, it sounds like a good time to contact your doctor and explain your current situation with him/her. Did you say in a prior post that there were issues with your current symptoms and medications that caused your job loss? (I may just be remembering incorrectly.) Perhaps after explaining it to the doc he/she can adjust your medications to more appropriately treat your current symptoms. I know that there have been many times when I have not been doing well at all but continued to take the same psych meds without approaching my doctor to request a change in my drug cocktail.
Perhaps, after you've done these things, you'll feel a little more grounded and better equipt to search/interview for a new position. Perhaps a low dose of a benzo can help get you through the interviewing process. When I was younger, I used to have what I would call a "mini" panic attack when I went for job interviews. My ears would ring, my vision would get a little blurry, and everything would feel very surreal.
Matt, I don't know if this has been useful at all, but I do wish you the best. I'm hoping that this situation will resolve itself very soon for you. Best of luck on your job hunt!
