I have only been off Effexor for 2.5 days and the withdrawls are horrendous. Nobody told me this would happen. Based on my experience I would suggest having your doc or shrink (he's the 1 that gave me effexor) start you back on it slowly and wean much more slowly than they suggest. Tell him or her about your withdrawls. If they try to blow you off make them listen, you know your body better than they do. Good luck.
