At maximum recommended dosage it didn't do anything at all for me. Absolutely no effect whatsoever. However, what was formerly diagnosed as generalized anxiety disorder has since been been diagnosed as the dysphoric part of bipolar with mixed states because I have no symptoms of anxiety except when I'm manic or hypomanic or mixed. After a while or taking the stuff, I mentioned to my doc that it didn't make any difference whether I took the stuff or not, and he said something along the lines of "yeah, in case there was a placebo effect at work with you I didn't want to ruin that effect, but now that you say it doesn't work for you, well, yeah ... I haven't had a single patient who had successful results with this drug beyond the first month or two."
