Effexor withdrawal even at very small doses?

Posted by SDA on July 12, 2004, at 17:21:06

Oh JOY, my doctor wants me to take effexor!

I think the starting dose he picked was ~37mg (probably the standard). If I have to stop taking it before increasing my dose at all, will I experience the infamous withdrawal effects that seem to be so prevalent among members of this community?

I'm very opposed to taking it since I don't feel very depressed at all. Circumstances have changed in my life, and the sh*t storm that almost claimed my life seems to be abating for the frist time in almost 9 months. My main complaints right now are persistant head-fuzziness (which is getting better every day) and some remaining conginitve deficits. Do you think the risks of effexor are worth taking?

If anyone could answer my questions, it would really help explain my reservations to my parents (who also want me to take the effexor).
