Here is what I emailed PUBLIC CITIZEN the group trying to ban Nefazodone, cause they do not speak for me a PUBLIC Citizen of the USA. Here it is:
ABOUT SERZONE/NEFAZODONE this is 3rd time I plead with you, that in your fight to get withdrawal completely of Serzone and now the Generic Nefazodone, that you slow down to take time to think about the people that have been saved by it, thats lives may affected ADVERSELY by making them come off of this, when it was all that helped from CRIPPLING depression and Anxiety. I have been on it 7 years, and I can tell you your definitely not speaking for this public citizen of the United States of America in calling for it's complete removal, as I am sure your are THOUSANDS of others. ALL I, AND I AM SURE NUMEROUS OTHER SERZONE/NEFAZODONE USERS AGREE, is that we have our own FREE AGENCY with our prescribing Doctor to choose if we want to stay on it. Apparently you do not know how severe you will disrupt peoples lives in succeeding in getting this drug removed completely should you. The withdrawal is a nightmare, ESPECIALLY after 7 years, I am doing fine, am content, and liver tests are fine. I am grossly sickened with the thought of someone telling me I have to get off of this, when it was all that helped me. As I said, to prevent others from getting liver damage is fine, BUT people like myself who have been on this so long should have our own choice to decide what is best for us, not you or lawyers. This drug does work, I am positive it worked for me, as is my medical records, nothing else did. I hope you consider what you may be doing in harming people like myself who are accustomed and doing well on this medication, and disrupting there lives by making them get off of it when there is no need for that individual. Depression is a horrific illness, and ALL options must be available for Doctors and patients, Nefazodone was only thing that helped me, please think our free agency to choose with our Doctors what is best for us.
