The clonazepam and Adderall were definitely the main players in bringing me back to "normal", though -- the benzo rid me of my anxiety, and the Adderall makes me want to socialize. It's great!

I'm in San Francisco and I've been to at least half a dozen psychiatrists over the past decade (due to frequent changes in my health plan) and all have adamantly refused to prescribe either benzos or stimulants for my social phobia. I have absolutely no personal or family history of drug or alcohol abuse and in this regard would make a good candidate for either med. Yet no doctor I've been to will prescribe them whether alone or in combination, claiming it's too risky. Living unhappily, being lonely much of the time, struggling financially and facing the likelihood of an improverished old age - to me that's a much bigger risk. Yet not one of them will bend. Sometimes I get so angry at their arrogance and lack of compassion.

The fact I don't should be an even bigger sign to doctors that I'm not likely to become an abuser, otherwise I would have become one long ago.
Hi Everyone,
I've been on about every med. one cares to name for SAD, GAD and Atypical Depression. The only thing I have ever found to work is a combination of 90mg. Nardil T.I.D., Valium 5mg. T.I.D., and Neurontin 100 mg. a day. That was the old Nardil though. Once taking the new and unimproved reformulated Pfizer version it stopped working as if I were taking placebo. Has anyone had this happen to them? Thanks for some of the ideas I need to research such as Adderall. I sincerely hope no one is having the same problems with the new Nardil that I am?
Sincerely,
Brian
