I can answer this pretty quickly. I have social phobia, avoidant personality disorder, and agoraphobia, amongst other things. For two years from the ages of 17-19 I never left my house. Doctors' appointments were conducted via phone or webcam, and when the webcam was used, I dimmed the lights so the doctor couldn't even see my face. It started when I was about 13... my childhood ADHD was rapidly losing the hyperactivity component and at the same time I had begun to become "shy" for the first time ever. It got worse and worse until the climax five years later.

> do you have 100% relief of it?

No -- 1,000% relief, if not more. I went from being the shut-in and complete unknown to anyone outside my household guy to the outgoing, life of the party, lead singer and guitarist in a popular local band guy. :-)

I liked King Vultan's idea about estimating efficacy of meds that have worked, so I'll expand on that here with my own experience. I'm going to rate the improvement in three areas though:

Paxil -- Anxiety: 30% improved, Sociability: 100% worsened, Side Effects: BRUTAL

Luvox -- Anxiety: no improvement, Sociability: 40% worsened, Side Effects: BRUTAL

Celexa -- Anxiety: 20% improvement, Sociability: 50% worsened, Side Effects: BAD

Lexapro -- Anxiety: 20% improvement, Sociability: no improvement, Side Effects: MODERATELY BAD

Zoloft -- Anxiety: no improvement, Sociability: no improvement, Side Effects: BRUTAL

Prozac -- Anxiety: 30% improvement, Sociability: 50% improvement, Side Effects: NONE

Effexor -- Anxiety: no improvement, Sociability: no improvement, Side Effects: NONE

Remeron -- Anxiety: no improvement, Sociability: no improvement, Side Effects: BAD

Serzone -- Anxiety: 10% improvement, Sociability: no improvement, Side Effects: NONE

Amitriptyline -- Anxiety: no improvement, Sociability: no improvement, Side Effects: NONE

Adderall -- Anxiety: 75% improvement, Sociability: 200% improvement, Side Effects: MILD

You're welcome, and good luck!
