I have not gained any weight on Effexor, I've actually lost about 7 pounds so far and that's not all that great since now I'm 95 lbs. soaking wet. It has greatly decreased my appetite. But I have noticed, like you, that I am drinking a lot since I've started (4 weeks ago). I don't know if this is due to the fact that I'm feeling better and going out more to bars, thus drinking more, or if it is actually the quantity that I'm drinking at each sitting. I think that it might be both. I only like to drink when I'm happy, and since I have been feeling better I guess that makes sense. But it kinda alarms me -- I don't like being hungover and since I have lost weight since starting effexor, I don't feel very healthy physically. Has anyone else increased their alcohol consumption since starting ADs?
