Zyprexa changes you metabolism ... something about blood sugar and what not ... its been linked to cases of diabetes. Its not just an appetite increase ... confirmed by my pdoc ... she said you WILL gain weight on it.

I've taken Seroquel before Zyprexa ... as an AD booster. I did 25mg (the usual starting dose) and then 50mg of Seroquel adn then I went on 5mg of Zyprexa ... although the normal starting dose is usually 2.5.

For me Seroquel had a really funky side effec (taking it with 300 Effexor) I would sweat like crazy all through the night ... and lose one pound per week every week even though I didn't change anything.

Seroquel weight gain (quite frequent) is, from what I know, far less important than the Zyprexa one.

When I switched to Zyprexa I went from 105 to 110 in about a week before I stopped taking it. It made me ravenous ... even wantingn to eat chocolate which I've always hated.
