> Hi all, we are retrying abilify for my 12 year old son. Due to the zyprexa weight gain, He got his first dose today a 10mg , although the doc gave me samples of both 10 and 15 i figured I tried him on 10 mg first and start off slow. He didnt have any noticeable side effects I gave it to him this morning, He fell asleep wonderfully tonite, even on zyprexa I sort of have to fuss with him, he seems overtired but sometimes has problems falling asleep today he did it on his own I was in shock. I hope this works out!!!!
> I didnt see any restlessness at all, compared to the first time I gave him 15mg in the evening and he was up all night and had severe restless legs, but I noticed the restless legs getting worse lately even on the zyprexa.
> although he seemed a bit crabby today and a little bit more scared than usual. His moodiness was more related to things I was doing he found disgusting, like picking my teeth, and burping, He gets overly obsessive about stuff he finds "gross" and sometimes his temper flares over it. think this is making his ocd worse? i am wondering if topamax is making his phobias worse, but he has a good amount of weight to lose he is on 100mg of topamax.

yeah abilify is tough, i started at 3.75 mg and found it tough to deal with (feeling tired but not able to settle down and sleep) .. now it's not so bad

i guess if you are combining the sedating effects of zyprexa and the activating effects of abilify it might be producing a nice balance??
