Nikki, how about considering Lexapro? I took Zyprexa for about a year and it was very helpful for anxiety and depression, but I did gain 35 lbs, and also developed "metabolic syndrome" (a precursor to diabetes). Because of that, I personally would not consider taking any of the atypicals again. I take 10 mg. of Lexapro, and find that it is helping steadily more in the two months that I have been on it. I did initially have headaches and a degree of sexual side-effects- the headaches have gone, but the sexual S/E's are still present, although they are less. I have noticed here that some people have none at all on Lexapro, and at least one person reported that it acted as an aphrodisiac! I'm not that lucky, but as an AD, I think it is excellent. It has not given me that flat, unmotivated feeling that some of the other SSRI's have.
