Melatonin Q.

Posted by Questionmark on June 3, 2003, at 3:37:47

Melatonin is a hormone, and thus a protein, correct? All proteins are metabolized in the stomach (or GI tract somewhere) before it can be absorbed-- correct? So how is oral melatonin able to be useful at all?
(Melatonin is the best, most side-effect-free substance i have found for insomnia. i dont take it that often however).
