The reason for the dosage up is that Effexor has pooped out... it probably won't poop back in after a dose increase, that rarely seems to happen. But it's not just that... I don't want to get the "SSRI effect"... the flattening, you guys know. Besides, SSRIs/SNRIs have never been fully effective for me.

This is when dosage raising is the most effective when an initial response fades. Poopout usually occurs after at least a year of positive response at a level dose.

Aha! Well I guess it didn't poop out then... it worked fairly well for a month, and then bam! nothing. So I just took my first dose of 225 mg, I'm gonna go ahead and see what happens until I switch to an maoi or anafranil. I told my doc I was also interesting in trying Provigil, and he said that's fine... so perhaps that will combat the "numbness" I would otherwise feel. I sure hope so... I've always liked the ways SSRIs and Effexor made me feel in some ways - more confident, more stable, more able to react to things appropriately, but I also despise the feeling of "not being able to feel." Like if I know I should be sad or mad about something, and it just won't happen.. my mind won't let me care about ANYTHING. It's disturbing... .but well, we'll see what happens.
