Hi, yeah you want to taper this one, but it usually doesn't cause big troubles until you get the dose down close to quitting it (in my experience anyhow). You were on 600mg previously I think, right? I would try dropping back to that dose for a week, then maybe 400mg for another, then maybe starting the Trileptal and cross-taper (Depakote down 200mg/week, Trileptal up 150mg/week) Just some suggestions.
