Hi and welcome again. I take 50mg of Lamictal at bedtime. When I first started back on it a few days ago, I have felt kinda "spacy", disassociating, and not too sharp, I was on it before and it did over time, maintain my mental sharpness, it takes a while, I hear, to get the full effect of the med and it had been out of system since May 2002. I am also on Effexor-XR 75mg so the depression and mania are pretty well being treated from all angles with these meds. But, as I said, I just went back on Lamictal and I pray that it works again. Did this help a little?

For those of you who take lamictal - have you found that you maintain your mental sharpness over time as you adjust to the dose? Do you treat the symptoms - or do you go about it proactively - almost as a prophylactic approach to prevent the depression phase from getting worse?
