In reply to Can Nardil change my life??please help, posted by Tepiaca on February 11, 2003, at 12:34:50
I wish I had tried Nardil sooner, rather than wasting time with so many medicines that brought little or no relief. Right now I don't have what it takes to go through an uncomfortable "trial" (and Nardil is uncomfortable for me), but I certainly have before, and the MAOI's (particularly Nardil) seem to be so worth it when you get to the other side. I don't know your history, and reactions to meds of course, and maybe effexor will bring great relief to you if you give it a while longer (I guess you should read some effexor theads to see how long it might take). But if it doesn't, I wouldn't spend a lot of time trying different meds in the same class. Augmentation works for some, atypical anti depressants for others. Nardil sure is touted as helping social phobia, though. You can't really lose by trying it, you'll just find out it doesn't work for you, or your life will get miraculously better! At least you know it's out there for you when you want it. I know how it feels to be depressed, fearful and lonely. I hope you feel better soon.
