My only dx is panic disorder and agoraphobia, no depression. I began on Nadil which was miraculous in its effect to reduce both the panc/anxiety and phobic response. I switched to Parnate due the the numerous and annoying side effects. Not only did I receive the same miraculous response for my anxiety symptoms, the side effects were "pleasant" i.e., inceased energy, increased libido, and mildly decreased appetite with concurrent weight loss.
I disagree that Nardil is better for anxiety and Parnate for depression. Parnate is more energizing and takes a while to get used to. A slow progression of dose so the body can adjust will help with that. I NEVER experienced an increase in anxiety and panic as I have on SSRI's and SNRI's (a typical s/e) I never took more than 50mgs. and was on it for over 4 years.
I only wish I never stopped.
