> My doctor just started me on .25 mg of Risperdal. I'm also taking 40 mg of Celexa. I have depression, anxiety, and obsessions. I originally thought it was weird to be put on an "antipsychotic" for these problems, but then I read an research study suggesting that it's a very different drug at low doses and recommending that it get a second classification. I've been on it for 4 or 5 days, and it already seems to have helped with general anxiety, but it's a little less clear whether it has helped with OCD. Anyone else in this boat? Is .25 mg enough? How long until it reaches full effect? Is this dosage low enough that I don't have to worry much about TD and/or weight gain? The only side effect I've noticed is night sweats. Anyone else noticed that? Will it go away. Any other comments? Thanks

I am on 40 mg celexa and 1.5 of Risperdal for BiPolar II and some OCD. Doing well but did gain weight on Risperdal, am cutting back to 1.0 mg to see if that will help with the wt gain and trying to exercise. I do take the Omega 3 oil and that has also helped.
good luck,
