Hi Barbara,
I took your advice and followed up on the thyroid thing a little further... I had my lab results sent to a Dr of Internal Medicine - at the recommendation of my pdoc. He looked everything over and re-iterated that the thyroid #s were in line... I think it was a 1.07 so the thyroid itself is functioning normally. He has referred me to an endocrinologist, who I am sure will want to stick me in the neck with big needles again... unfortunately the clinic had already destroyed my records from my biopsy in 1990 so we did not have anything to compare the ultrasound to.. oh well.. live and learn I guess.
Anyway, since the thyroid levels are normal, what are you getting at? Do you think it could be a T4/T3 thing? My friend just came up with a "Wilson's Thyroid Syndrome" that specifically addresses T4/T3 - but the "thyroid people" are dennouncing this 'syndrome' as a hodgepodge of non-specific symptoms. I don't know what to make of it, but maybe a little Selenium in my diet might help...

MomOh and BTW, I am doing better not feeling so caged or depressed, after a few angry weeks on hell-butrin, I am taking lots of naps on effexor - but at least I am not cracking my teeth from all of the clinching that the wellbutrin brought on. But since my alcohol consumption seems to be increasing with increased Effexor dosage, I suspect some hypomania. The hypomanic is a nice change of pace, the head in the toilet at 3am on a Tuesday from too much wine is not. Tell me there is some middle ground!
