The old pdoc wanted me to take it for the obsessive thinking about how anxious I am. Who would not think about how their body feels when that horrible anxiety and depression is engulfing you.

Neither is best. The best is a general psychiatrist who also has some solid Neurology training in addition to psychiatry. A Psychiatrist who also understands Neurology is the best Pdoc. Psychopharmacologists are just psychiatrists who are in real tight with the pharmaceutical companies and are nothing special. Ive found psychopharmacologists to be no better than your general psychiatrist. All psychiatrists should be required to complete additional training in Neurology.the ones to avoid are the older, know it all Pdocs who were trained in the old days when Freud was still in vogue.
