Acamprosate is of some value to some patients but overall I have not been very impressed by it.Some physicians now prescribe naltrexone as well as acamprosate for alcoholism.
By chance I found that omega-3 fatty acids or fish oil have some benefit in alcoholism as in many other branches of psychiatry.Have a look at www.omega3.20megsfree.com
