Angel Girl, hi. I have been following your posts on PSB though I have yet to post on that board. I'm another one who has bad insomnia and am often up late into the night. Sometimes I kind of like it that way, especially if I don't have to do anything tomorrow. But it does get lonely sometimes, and can be extremely frustrating if you want to go to sleep and can't.

I also take xanax, but rarely for sleep because it has a tendancy to wake me up, rather than to sedate me. I did take a couple tonight as we are about to be slammed by storms. I wanted to be up for them. I love nature and the power of thunderstorms in the early morning hours while all is quiet and still dark, the bright lightning, high winds, trees bent over, all give me a sense that I'm the lucky one who is up to observe the power of nature. It's kinda like it's mine to experience in my own way, not unlike hiking into the wilderness for a few days, or up a mountain, or to just sit alone at night on a lake, fishing pole out, dog by my side and nothing to do but stare at the stars and wonder in peace.

I have no solutions to your sleep problems, hell, I've been fighting mine since I was a child. Just wanted to let you know your not up alone

Sometimes I do my best thinking late at night when all is quiet and everyone is asleep. Hope you get some zzzzz's soon.
