In reply to novel meds for ADHD, effexor, selegiline, etc, posted by katekite on May 23, 2002, at 9:36:13

Kate, I have ADHD & I was told (& tend to agree from my own experience) that many ADs, especially SSRIs, help control one part of ADHD - impulsiveness, better than other meds. It seems to do little for the other aspects of ADHD I have but I find I can exhibit verbal & mental self-control with an SSRI. My ability to think before I speak especially is much better. Most find me respectful & tactful & have commented on it. I'm not so sure I'd be like that without an AD.
