DISABILITY HELP!

Hi...
My short-term disabilty is about to expire, and I just got a call from my long-term carrier. They said that because I have a pre-existing illness, my benefits are denied! I cannot afford my current doctor without a paycheck. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is there anything I can do???
