Wellbutrin takes the same 4-6 weeks to work as does every antidepressant. The Wellbutrin may counter-act the drowsiness of Effexor (if you're not on the XR version then switch to it soon: all at bedtime). If you get up to 150-200 mg of Effexor, then the dose-related raise in norepinephrine levels will occur. The combo Effexor + Wellbutrin means that serotonin is raised once, and norepinephrine is raised twice.
