Here is how I successfully quit Zoloft without any withdrawal symptoms ( I took it for 4 years @ 50mg ).
I broke a 50mg pill in half, took 25mg in the a.m. and 25mg. in the p.m. I did this for about a month. Then, I would take 25mg. only one day and 50mg (25mg twice a day )the next. I alternated like this for about 2 weeks. After that I took only 25mg per day for about 2 more weeks. I started breaking a 25mg pill in half and took 12.5 in the a.m. and 12.5 in the p.m. I started alternating again ( 12.5mg one day...25mg the next) Did this for 2 weeks. THEN...12.5mg only per day for about 3 weeks. THEN..12.5mg every other day....12.5mg every two days....12.5mg every three days...then suddenly I didn't need it anymore. This is a painfully slow way to ease off of it with no symptoms...but worth the wait because it gives your brain time to adjust to life without medication anymore. You have time to learn to cope on your own.
Good luck everybody!
